What is the V8 Engine?

The V8 engine is Google's open-source JavaScript engine, used by Chrome and Node.js. It compiles JavaScript to native machine code for fast execution.

Understanding V8's Role in Node.js

V8's Update Cycle

V8 implements the ECMAScript and WebAssembly standards. When a new JavaScript feature becomes part of the ECMAScript standard, V8 will eventually implement it, making it available in both Chrome and Node.js.
